It's been almost a year since I first set foot in POMA, and anticipation has now been replaced by loving memories. Being a high school student in Hong Kong has changed me a lot. The experiences and opportunities have been unique in shaping me in a way that would otherwise be impossible.

A key part of the exchange programme is when it started. Venturing into an unfamiliar (unknown, to be precise) place, I was both exhilarated and stressed. Everything was new and different. I was not sure if I could fit in and meet the school’s expectations. But as soon as I arrived, all my worries dissipated. The smile and warm welcome of every member in POMA and the great care I received have allowed me to ease into the new environment smoothly and enjoyably. It was also very kind of some schoolmates to give me all the information I needed, such as travel methods. Many classmates warmed up to me and we got along very well.

The best part that I like about my stay is the Beijing trip. It was a great chance to be able to spend time with my classmates while visiting Mainland China. As the saying goes, a visit is worth a million words. The visit to Beijing enabled me to have a better understanding of Chinese history and culture, but I found the experience very real - I see everything firsthand.

Besides the trip, I feel that the learning environment in POMA readily presents its students with numerous opportunities. It was as if there were new challenges every day. I feel that learning is taking place every day and I have never had such a keen interest in subjects like Physics and Biology. I also enjoy the experience of helping out with the school's Open Day.

Finally, studying in a local school has given me a chance to be immersed in the life of Hong Kong. Not only did I enjoy living like a Hongkonger, but the day-to-day experience has formed an integral part of my growing up. Looking back 10/20/30 years from now, I am sure this experience will be as memorable as ever.
